Our Name...
...“Dokita” is a linguistic loan of the German word “Doktor” to the lexis of the Bulu language of Cameroon, indicating a physician, a doctor, and also in the new system of cultural referral, the medicine-man, the healer. “Dokita” was the title given to Clemente Maino (1920-1974), a religious lay brother, nurse and missionary of the Congregation of the Immaculate Conception (CFIC), in Sangmelima, Cameroon.
