Dokita onlus was settled up in 1988 by a group of lay volunteers linked to the missionaries of the Congregation of the sons of the Immaculate Conception. Since then the organization is structured in a direction increasingly international launching projects in different countries in Africa, Latin America and Asia and establishing in those countries of their local offices.
The headquarters of Dokita has its headquarters in Rome in Italy while they are currently active legal seats in seven countries and operational offices in five other countries.
